Families First

Families First is court-mandated to help divorced or separated parents understand the effects of this situation on their children. Parents learn to promote positive parenting and to successfully co-parent with longevity, for the emotional health of their children. Family Compass is licensed to provide this seminar by the national organization.

Class Information

Seminars are offered as a one-time session, usually on the second Saturday of every month. Please see the list of upcoming dates below. Each class is held 8:30am-12:30pm. Families First classes will be conducted virtually until further notice. Attendees will receive an email with the virtual meeting link by the Friday morning before class. Classes are only offered in English. Spanish-speakers are welcome to attend the class but must provide another adult to translate for them. Spanish language Co-Parenting Handbooks will be mailed to Spanish-speakers. For more information about Families First, please contact Tyler Wright at twright@family-compass.org or 214-370-9810 x110.

Children’s classes are not available at this time. We kindly request that no children be present within earshot during the virtual parent class due to the nature of material discussed. Please arrange for another caregiver to watch children in a different area of the home.
