Get Involved


If you are considering volunteering we hope the following information helps you find the opportunity you are seeking.  Family Compass offers flexible and meaningful opportunities for those interested in volunteering their time and unique talents toward strengthening children and families.  Volunteers are involved in everything from administrative tasks, reading to children, and working at fundraising events.  Time commitments range from a few hours for a single project to several weeks for long-term projects.  Try something new. Learn new skills and meet new people!

Host a Drive

Our families struggle financially and this is one way we can help relieve their financial burden. Host a drive to collect items including but not limited to diapers, toys, safety items, backpacks filled with school supplies, etc. Contact Marynka Marquez for more information. Host a third-party event! 

You can raise money and awareness for the prevention of child abuse by hosting an event in your community.  Event ideas include dinners, auctions, poker runs and dine-to-dine donate nights, as well as smaller scale events such as car washes and dress down days.  A third-party event is conducted, promoted and financed by an individual or organization.  Contact Sara Cooper for more information.  

Community Education and Outreach

Work with families in group settings, help with child-care, volunteer at community events. Contact Sheryldine Samuel for more information.

Social Media

Promote and spread Family Compass’s mission to a broader audience via social media. Contact Sara Cooper for more information.

Volunteer at an Event

Volunteer at special fundrasising events throughout the year, including the annual A Legendary Evening gala in April, Plano Balloonfest in September and/or Charity Golf Classic in October. Contact Sara Cooper for more information.
