Over $200,000 was raised at A Legendary Evening, held on Saturday, May 4, 2013! Event co-chairs Brynn Bagot Allday, Amy Camp and Michelle Meadows, with honorary chairs Diane and Daryl Johnston, welcomed over 250 stylish guests to The Ritz-Carlton for an evening featuring larger than life icons who have helped guide our community through their work in business, sports, philanthropic endeavors and entertainment.

Upon arrival, guests mingled while sipping cocktails and bidding on one-of-a-kind silent auction items, purchasing mystery bags or buying chances for "Duff's Diamond Dig," where one lucky person was the winner of a pair of 1 carat diamond studs set in 14k white gold courtesy of Duff's Fine Jewelry.

Partygoers were then ushered into the ballroom as the evening's Master of Ceremonies, WFAA-TV's Dale Hansen, introduced the impressive roster of the evening's legends including professional golfer Justin Leonard; former Dallas Stars goalie Marty Turco; Dr. Ron Anderson, retired President and CEO of Parkland Hospital; WFAA-TV news anchor and reporter Gloria Campos; retired NBA professional point guard Spud Webb; country musician Rudy Gatlin; restaurateur Tracy Rathbun; journalist, investigative reporter and teacher Hugh Aynesworth; WFAA-TV meteorologist Colleen Coyle; Miss Texas USA 2013 Natalie Clarke; Dallas County Commissioner Mike Cantrell; Chef David Anthony Temple (aka Chef DAT); former NFL player James Yarbrough; reality TV star Melissa Poe; co-founder of DSVP Bob Wright; former NFL player Ryan Moats; Uncle Julio's CEO Todd Conger; restaurateur Mico Rodriguez, founder of M Crowd Restaurant Group; award-winning writer, producer and TV host Jocelyn White; PR maven Martha Tiller, President and CEO of Martha Tiller Company; and model/actor Kris Clinton. 

Immediately following, Executive Director Jessica Trudeau, welcomed patrons and announced the 2013 Spirit of Compassion Award recipient and long-time supporter of Family Compass, Kelly Compton. Kelly accepted her honor and gave brief remarks on the importance of supporting and investing in the clients of Family Compass.

After a seated dinner and as coffee was served, the live auction soon got underway with big bids coming in for restaurateur Mico Rodriguez's private dinner for 24 complete with staffing and his famous margaritas; a special package from honorary chair Daryl Johnston including a signed jersey and football and two sideline tickets; a trip to South Africa Ezulwini Game Lodges; and a private golf lesson with professional golfer Justin Leonard.

As some guests rushed to get in their last-minute bids in the silent auction, DJ Andre took to the stage and got the crowd up on their feet for some late-night dancing.
